I wasn’t able to go personally but my in-laws did and here’s their haul.

I also saw from someone that Percy Jackson Hardcover of Greek Heroes was selling for 175 also. Grrr… I wish I went here.

This is my 3rd year visiting the book fair. Initially, I was planning to go the first day but wasn’t able to. Still, I had a decent haul today. Overall, the selection seems lesser than last year. But, it was still fun.

This was my first purchase at the only Chinese bookstore I saw. It was at 20% off. 154 Php for each. What’s inside the book? One is basic drawing, origami and clay.

Pretty decent and useful I think…

Next stop is Summit where I got this book for husband at 250 Php.

Next. I dugged through the bargain bin of Adarna and got these books. Storybooks at 35 Php each. The compilation was selling at 85 Php each. After 3 years, I’ve completed the whole volume. Just in time for the new look of the book. The semi-reference books for 70 Php. Honestly, the books in the bargain bin seems lesser than before. Previously, I got tons of books from it.

Next stop… Tahanan where I browsed throught the bargain bin again. 3 books for 100 Php. I got these.

Precious Pages… I got Edward books for vacations/no classes. Everything at 20% off as opposed to last year’s 30% off. Math book was at 316 Php and English book at 208 Php. Coloring books at 63.80 Php and the Cars book at 47.80 Php. I was supposed to grab more ETL books but none caught my attention.

I was a bit disappointed with National this year, they don’t have the bargain bin anymore. And after 30 mins or so… This is my only purchase. Also at 20% off.

Tons of Lego books at Fully Booked at 20% off. I got this for 638.40 Php. Which was actually decent. The other minifigure book was selling around 1,400. After discount approximately 1,200… I passed on it. Maybe next time.

This really made me excited. The reusable stickers were also at 20% off. I got it for 248.80 Php. There were tons of Melissa and Doug this time, wooden toys, puzzles, stickers, stamps… Tons!

Last stop is Learning is fun…

I kinda sense that the theme for this year was adult coloring book. It was everywhere! Fullybooked and National selections are extensive. 500 Php up. Precious Pages at 399 Php. Another one was selling at 200 Php. But I’m visiting 999 tomorrow… And I can get it for 150 Php. So… Nevermind!

I’m excited about this comparison. I’ve planned this a long time ago but didn’t push through due to various reasons.

For today, I’m be testing both dressings. Clara Ole Asian vs Kewpie Roasted Sesame.

Clara Ole Asian tasted similarly to KFC Asian Salad, the smell is good as well. I bought it from Shoppers Mart for around 37 Php if I remember right.

Kewpie Roasted Sesame is addicting. I use it in various dishes, chicken, noodles. Now is the first time I’ll be trying in a salad. I bought a small bottle from Mandarin Supermarket for 285 Php I think.

image

The verdict? Clara Ole Asian won. Although it’a really a hard decision. Both are really good. But I think Clara Ole nailed it. Better for salad. I’ll just use the Kewpie Roasted Sesame for other dishes.

Since Edward is a bit fascinated with Disney Cars, we’ve decided to try buying a Domino and teach him the concept of the game.

The first instruction was okay. Get 5 Dominoes, no issue. When it was the game proper, he doesn’t want to let go of his tiles. We tried playing to show him, he was messing up the tiles in the middle. Haha worth the try. Can’t wait for him to learn board games. Would want to play with him next time.

For 200 Php, the tiles are actually decent. It’s kinda heavy. Not the usual cheap plastic you see on board games.

I have been a fan of Korean Food for the longest time. I’ve been eager to try out this restaurant located in Fort Strip. After 2 times of failure… The third time was the charm. We finally were able to get a seat.

Initially, I was eyeing to get Bibimbap but after browsing the menu and seeing the Kimchi Chigae. My choice switch instantly. The Kimchi Stew is priced at 250 Php without rice. If you want rice, you can add 30 Php.

I absolutely love the food. It brought back memories of my Korea trip. Right amount of flavor. Serving size is just right.

Would I go back? Definitely! To try the other dishes… Like the Japchae,  Bulgogi and Rabokki.

Here are the food tried out by my colleagues.

My heart is heavy upon knowing that my ex-colleague passed away. I am never close to Alex, in fact, I only had a meeting with him twice during my P&G life. But I can’t hold back the tears as I read through the comments. It’s as if I lost a family, I guess… a P&G family. I know he’s a good person, well loved by his family and friends. May you rest in peace, Alex…

I rarely blog about food these days… But there are two discoveries that urges me to share.

One from Balai Pandesal. A sandwich spread and dip… Hidden Valley Spicy Chipotle Pepper. It’s a bit pricy, 300ish pesos. But it’s really good especially for those of you who likes spicy food.

Another recommendation for Korean food lovers, Kimchi!!! This one is bought from Shopper’s Mart. 120ish. What’s surprising is it’s made from Taiwan. So I’m not sure if really authentic but it’s really good. We even add this to our ramyun to make it more spicy.

So, there you have it. I hope you would enjoy these as much as we do.

I’ve been using Aliexpress for several purchases that I’ve made online but this is the first time I’ve tried out dfferent delivery services. Previously, I choose the free China Post Mail. Yes it takes a long time but I onlly pay P50 for storage fee.

For this time, since my purchase was relatively bigger. The seller shipped the package through Fedex and EMS. So that it would be received faster. But my experience is not so good.

Fedex – This is super fast. Less than a week, my package is here. But they are charging a lot to receive the package. For my package, it went through custom for P250. But the storage fee cost around P800. I paid almost P1,300 after tax for the storage fee. It is door to door delivery.

EMS – Not as fast as Fedex but more expensive in terms of tax. It depends on the mood of the person computing. My experience was so bad. I was asking her to breakdown the cost and she charged me more. I didn’t want to argue with her, so I paid it. Almost P1,300 as well. Aside from the variable computation of tax, you have to go to EMS Central Mail Exchange to pick up your parcel. Near the airport. It quite inconvenient for me.

Hence, I’ll stick to the original China Post Mail, where you pick it up in the nearest Post Office and they don’t charge as much.

I thought I was done with the game. After all, the update takes a while… A long while. But seeing the Sakura decoration in Facebook was enough to entice me back. Surprisingly, the update took less than 10 mins. Nice work team. So… Here are the updates in decoration and Bingo.
