Our Best Man’s Toast

How many people can honestly say that they married their best friend? My brother and Elizabeth have known each other since high school. They have been together so long and remained strong up to now. How they managed, I don’t know? Henri J. Nouwen once said, a man can keep his sanity and stay alive as long as there is t least one person who is waiting for him. And that is why Kalvin and Elizabeth are still mentally sound. 🙂

As best man, I’m supposed to offer some insight into married life for the bride and groom. Never been married myself, I’m not sure that’s a good idea. However, There are only two things I know:

1st, Brother, to keep your marriage brimming, with love in the loving cup, whenever you’re wrong admit it, whenever you’re right, shut up.

2nd, All your joys will now be magnified by two because you can share them together. All your trials and tribulations have now been halved – because you can now solve them together. Housework, I’m not so sure.

And now, may I request everybody to stand up and raise their glasses for the newlywed.

Here’s to the bride and groom and groom! May your refrigerator always be filled with Budweiser, and may all of your ups and downs be only inside the bedroom.
