I was able to try this place thanks to my good friend Seok Bee and Metrobank. This is our send off party for her. I’ll surely miss her.

Anyway, the place is quite nice. Posh and all. You’ll know instantly it’s a bit pricey.

I had French Onion Soup and Grilled Chicken Penne. The soup was really salty nevertheless it captured the flavor that I like. What’s that in the middle of the soup? Crouton and cheese, the bread part got a bit disguting in the end. Squishy haha. But it’s been years since I had this soup. So I still enjoyed it.

image

The pasta is really good. The serving size is to be for sharing but it looks a bit small. I think I got half of the dish. So much for dieting! But hey! This is for my meal already. #sodefensive. The pesto is really good. I love this dish.

The rest of the dishes are what my colleagues have ordered. I don’t know the taste but it looks good.

The place is nice, the food is okay. But without the discount, I probably won’t come back.

I’m super impressed with the Bandai series of the Happy Meal. Two toys in one car. You just flip it over and you have another car.

For this feature, we have the School Bus/Firetruck. My son loves this toy. The stickers are cute and it even has a key to make the car move. Cool!

It was fun setting up the toy for Edward. Next time, he’ll be doing it by himself.

For the other variants, see below… Credits to Mc Donald’s website.

After Edward’s Gymboree playing, we’ve decided to have our lunch at Lombardi’s. Again, the minimum requirements should be there, nice seats and spaghetti.

This place have a really nice ambiance. And the food is really good. Here’s the breakdown of what we got.

This is their own bread, it’s soft and taste nice.
image

Spaghetti Con Polpettine – I love the meatballs. However, Edward didn’t. I tried making him eat it. But after he discovered I’m mashing it in his spaghetti, he stopped eating it all together. So much for tricking him into eating it.
image

Prosciutto E’ Funghi – I liked the pizza! Although their hot sauce is super spicy. Haha. The pizza itself is created after you order it, so guaranteed fresh. The crust is a bit hard but the flavor is good.
image

Linguine Alla Carbonara – Although I love Carbonara, I didn’t like this dish as much. It’s a bit peppery.
image

Lasagna Della Casa – The serving size is a bit small for the price but it’s really nice. Very flavorful.
image

Spaghetti Fruiti De Mare – Wasn’t able to try this. Sorry!
image

Scaloppa Di Milan – I don’t remember the taste of the porkchop but I love the risotto. Husband is even insisting that risotto is my favorite. Haha.

To summarize, we had a nice time in the restaurant. Added factor is seeing the chef himself. But it’s a bit pricey. So I’ll have to think again if we would eat in it again. Since the serving size is really small.

Gumbo

It’s been awhile since we went out, mainly because Edward is naughty. This time round, we tried Gumbo in Robinson’s Ermita. Why? Because they have nice chairs. One of the requirements with Edward around.

One of the observation is the serving size for Petite is really big. We had a lot of take home. We didn’t expect the big serving. Hence, it looks like we over ordered.

image

This is Mardi Gras Salad, vinaigrette dressing. This is good for appetizer. The petite is probably for 2-3 people. Definitely not for one.

image

Cajun Fried Chicken, free 2 size dishes. We selected Cajun Rice and Mash Potato. The rice and the chicken were a bit dry. Not sure what Cajun is really… But I’m not a fan of this dish.

image

I got Creamy Creme Dory, not what I imagined it would be but the taste is okay. Better than the chicken. 2 side dishes, we got cajun rice and fries.

image

We selected Spaghetti with Meatballs for Edward. When it was served, I was shocked with the size. Edward ate a lot. It’s really good.

image

What I love most is the Clam Chowder soup. It was really good. But the serving for this is a bit small. For 175 Php, it’s a bit expensive. But if you have extra cash, I really would recommend.

image

For our drink, we got their best seller. Peach Bellini Pitcher. It was supposed to be for 5 glasses but the glasses were small. It’s sweet with peach chunks. I liked it because it’s sweet and refreshing.

Overall, I like Gumbo. We would definitely come back to try other dishes. Fewer dishes at a time.

My son has a fascination/addiction to cars. It’s sometimes hard to control him when he sees something that he really likes. The outcome? Our diecast collection is growing. In fact, the container is half filled. I wonder how long would it take before we buy another container.

For his 1st birthday, his godfather gave him his first car. He loves this car so much. He brings this car everywhere, he would literally drag the car where he is. I remember when initially a part of the tire dropped. He was wailing! Asking his papa to stick it back for him. Even helping to secure it. When it finally broke down, my superman son steered it so much that the part holding the wheel snapped! Snapped! He was devastated of course,  but he kept on playing though. When the steering wheel died, we have no choice but to keep it in the storage otherwise he might get hurt. Everyday, he would drag me towards the room, holding my hand and pointing to the car… Saying “Car… Car”. Day after day we go back to the room without the car.

image

So for his second birthday, we’ve decided to buy him a new one. Before his nap, I was telling him to sleep early because when he wakes up, we would go buy his car. When he woke up, I was telling him “Let’s buy your car… RED!” He was all smiles. When husband came back, we went to buy it. He was so behaved in the car initially. I was even proud because I thought he understood our talk of no fuss until we reach home tonight. When we reach Toys R Us, I was showing him Lambie plush, he pushed it away. When I pointed the direction of thr cars, his eyes literally lit up. He was so excited to try them out. He initially was playing with Lightning, but when the Vintage Car was brought down… He completely ignored Lightning. Hence, we went home with his new car.

image

image

When we got home, he cried a lot because he wasn’t able to play with the real car. I told him, we bought his red car but he wouldn’t believe me and insisted on waiting for his papa with the car. When he saw the car, he quietly went to bed.

The next day, when he saw the car, he was so happy. He played a long time. I guess, it was right to get the car. It made him really happy. Advance Happy Birthday Edward! We love you.

image

PS. Please take good care of the car, we don’t want to make it a yearly gift.

Felt Books

I like these kinds of books, kinda reminds me of my childhood listening to stories. I looked and looked for books like this and was lucky to find it in Fully Booked.
image

The set consists of pages to put in the felt accesories. But it’s kinda small. The circle in front has the same size of the backdrop inside. The good thing, Scrotch Brite’s towel is able to hold the felt. So if you want bigger backdrop it might work.
image

I’m actually planning an experiment to see if felt paper would work as well. If it would… Then I’ll bring out my printables.
