This place was part of the itinerary that we can’t afford to miss out. We’ve planned to let Edward select his own gift for his birthday.

The place was quite a walk from the Tsim Tsa Tsui MTR Exit A. And to make things worse. Edward fell asleep before we got out of the station. So we carried him all the way to Harbour City first to check out Page One.

So Kalvin had to carried him while I look for a book. He woke up after I bought the book. Luckily, we found a spot where Kalvin can rest as well.

We decided to stopped by KFC also for a quick dinner before we proceed with Toys R Us

Toys R Us delivered exceededly. Here’s a facade of the store.

The selection of Lego toys is vast. We concentrated on the ones with sale. But generally, it’s cheaper than Manila price.

They even have some displays.

The place was too big that we weren’t able to explore the Girls Portion and Babies R Us. Probably next time.

Here’s Edward enjoying some of his photo op.

Edward was inside the cart most of the time except when he sees a toy he likes. He then gets out and put it inside the cart. If we think we shouldn’t buy, we would return, we wouldn he didn’t complain or cry. Proud of you baby.

For the big toys that he likes that we couldn’t bring home, he agreed to just take a picture of it. Next time baby…

The most memorable part of the Toys R Us experience was when Edward saw Tomica, he went to see the products and selected two cars, which are actually good finds. Initially, I have no plans of buying Tomica as it was more expensive but seeing him look carefully and selecting what he wants… I gave in.

He did the same in Disney Cars, after looking he got a Blue Lightning. Hard find as well. Good job Kevy.

We’ve planned today as the day to revisit Dapitan Arcade and we weren’t disappointed. I didn’t see the houses which I was originally intended to buy but the things we saw were as good.

The Mickey Mouse pumpkin I saw last year was more abundant this year. And the Merry Christmas sign I bought was also available. But the rest are fairly new.

There were more Santa displays… and the number 1 tip… buy it while you can. As some of the items only have 1 stock. This was a hard lesson for me. I saw a very cute Lantern of Frosty but wasn’t able to buy it. It was 150 Php
image

Another lesson is don’t hesitate to buy. I was eyeing a gingerbread train, it costs 500 Php. But it was big and cute… but I was a bit hesitating as it seems to be useless. Upon coming home, I kept on thinking about it. Haha. Next time… I’ll get you! The big gingerbread house costs 1,000 Php
image
image

Another cute item I’ve let go is this train. It costs 300 Php. I was thinking, I’ll just get the 500 Php since the difference in price was small but in size it was huge. In the end, I wasn’t able to buy anything… Sigh!
image

I was hoping to see lots of Christmas plates but only a few stores carry them. This is a cheese plate with spread selling for 200 Php
image

I was able to get a ceramic decor, similar to a ceramic tile for 35 Php. It was selling 3 for 100 Php but I don’t need that much.

Santa of various sizes… hanging Santa costs 250 Php

Our company is super cool, in line with the Book Lending Activity (club), they were able to get National Bookstore to sell in our office. All books are at 20% discount, they brought in bargain books as well. I was able to find some at 70% off. I heard that in October, they would have warehouse sale in QC. At the same time, Pre-christmas sale is expected to be in October. So, I’m all geared for another round of bargain hunting.

They would be in our office for three days. On the first day, I went 3 times, different books are put on display. Some are sold out easily. I was only able to purchase on my third visit. What’s cool is we can request for books and they’ll try to find in from their branch. I have requested Phineas and Ferb, hope they would get me.

My colleague is super nice to buy Edward a book.

I came back with a vengeance because I wasn’t able to go to work yesterday. I was super happy with my purchase. Bargain! Majority of the goodies range from 20 and 30 Php. The only expensive book I bought was the Cars which I got for Edward. He liked it, he was asking me to open it for him. We browse through the book several times. So it was a success! And I got it for 20% discount.

We had a short detour after getting the student’s permit. Kalvin saw this place being featured on TV. The place is rather small but it has lots of Christmas decorations, including hanging Santa Claus, Christmas Trees and a surprise find is Lemax villages. You can complete the whole place in a hour or so.

The stockings are a bit pricy, ranging from 180 to 200. For the Lemax villages, a lot of the stores are selling it. I suggest you to canvas first, it ranges from 400-600. Not much of the Christmas trees, but they offer arranged trees for at least 1,500.

I bought a few decorations and Christmas gifts. The place is a fun place for short trips. And with Christmas just around the corner, I suggest you to  visit this place as well.

It’s located along Dapitan street, towards the QC area Dapitan that is.

Yes, I have said that my book sale hunting is over. Well, at least until the Manila International Book Fair. But curiosity killed the cat. I have decided to check out the place after Ach told me their selection is pretty good and there’s not much people in there. I wasn’t disappointed. This is the most expensive haul for us but I was pretty happy with the books.

One failed investment, the Mini Look and Find book. I thought it was on sale as it was in he sale stack but it wasn’t. Luckily, I really like the book. So here’s our haul. I also bought a dinosaur egg.

I went on a date with husband one day when Katsu was able to babysit for us. Not much of a haul, I am starting to lose my touch. Haha. Actually, there are still some interesting books but husband didn’t approved. Hence, I returned it. My shopping technique is to find an interesting book and if it’s still too early for Edward, then I’ll keep it. Husband’s technique, buy only what is needed for now. As there might be newer version of the book in the future. Totally different beliefs but we adjust.
