Okay! Today is the life I somehow envisioned. I sent my son to school, alone! Of course I was scared. There are lots of uncertainties, not sure if I’m upto it yet. Not to mention, yesterday, I saw a kid wearing the same outfit as Edward, I immediately panicked thinking it was him with another adult. Haha, see how unprepared I am. So I was happy that we were able to survive.

Honestly, I get bored waiting in school, I tried bringing a magazine. And no! It’s not Seventeen as husband suggested. It was a business magazine, I browsed until I got bored. That’s probably in 10 mins.

So I’ve decided to explore the area. Went to Merriam Bookstore and got 2 cool books at a cheap price.

I did a few price research while browsing. I’m into DIY flashcards now. I saw blank flashcards probably 3×5 size selling for 29.50 Php for 50 Pcs. It looks like a blank Corona 3×5 Index Card selling at 34 Php for 100 pcs. Then I realize that the one I’m using is cheaper as it’s 33 Php for 100 Pcs. Of course, the Corona has better quality as both sides are smooth. If I exhaust this, I’ll think if I want to switch.

Next, I did some grocery and bought Kalvin a pasalubong. Then I was back in school, trying to see what’s happening inside. And mainly getting scoops about the lives of other kids. Hmmm, so I guess that’s a normal boring morning.

Right after school, while having lunch, Edward started playing with his first activity. He loves stickers, that’s why finding an affordable store is a must. The set he played with today costs 7 Php wholesale price for a minimum of 12 pcs. Since we can’t find a decent sticker album we used drawing book instead. This cost 15 Php.

While Edward was sleeping, I started working on his worksheets. This one failed, he didn’t want to do it.

Remember in my previous posts, I mentioned looking for an alternative to save my printables? I found my solution!!! Acetates, we are putting acetate over our worksheets. And with washable markers, we can reuse it over and over again. Merriam is selling it on a retail quantity. 21 Php for 5 Pcs. Super proud of this workaround.

Next, I’ve introduced him to marbles. I promised him before that I would buy him marbles, since it’s one of the childhood games I know. Merriam is selling a pack for 15 Php. I absolutely don’t know how to play it so I taught him what I learned in the Nanny Patrol. I made him practice scooping with a spoon. Hopefully, this would improve his skills.

But Edward has other ways to play… Yup! With his trucks.

Here are the rest of his activities…

Overall, I am happy with today as I was able to spend time with my parents and sisters as well. I even got a souvenir, a scratch! For chasing the marbles… And after 2 days of walking in the sun… I am taned!

Yes! Finally, the journey begins. So the first day, I thought I would spend most of the time in school. Ehm! Wrong! Since we can’t see anything, husband and I went on a date. From Lucky Chinatown to 168 to Merriam Bookstore to the warehouse sale.

After school, we even went to watch a movie. Epic fail but the long awaited date finally happened. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow.

Here are our haul.

This was a lucky find and Edward destroyed the carton even before I took a picture. Sigh!

If you are a fan of stickers, then you are in luck… We recently discovered a sticker shop located at Ground Floor Lucky Chinatown Mall Annex. Their selection is massive and I mean really massive.

To avail of the wholesale price, you must buy the minimum number of stickers. 6 for small stickers and 3 for big stickers. The savings is quite big as the retail price of the small stickers is 25 Php and the wholesale is 18 Php.

The stickers are useful for scrapbooking. Although, the stickers stick better in papers than in Sticker Album, which my son use for playing.

Without further ado… The Haul.

I’ve gotten to know about this company through Sulit.com.ph when I was browsing on Personalized Invitation. The things that made me contact them were… price, small minimum order, free layout, number of invitation they have done, delivery via any LRT stations, and they personalize envelopes and stickers as well.

My initial plan was to layout the invitation by myself. But upon seeing the prices, I’ve opted to outsource it to free myself of the hassle to design and it costs cheaper.

I’ve contacted them last week of January and was only able to get my order on March 7. It’s not entirely their fault though. I started out with Invitation, then personalized envelope, sticker and name tags. And since I’m a bit meticulous on the layout itself. It took lots of revisions.

I’m glad with their service, they were very accommodating and were quite fast with the revision. We had tons of email back and forth. At the same time, they provide bulk discount. So I was able to get my goods at a price lower than my budget. So I am pretty happy. What disappointed me was during the pickup. Initially, I would be getting them at March 6, 11 AM but they didn’t show up on time. Since I’m a bit time-bound, we met the next day instead.

Anyway here are my goods… quality wise, I’ll give them 7 out of 10 for the invitation. Some of the envelopes have glue stains. Sticker seal 10/10, Name tags 10/10. They are actually nice to insert the invitations in the envelope. But I still have to check one by one for quality assurance. ;P
